Carmina at Pitti Uomo 89 with Tailor Shop Sauma
This week I’m happy to share a teaser on Carmina and their FW 2016 as seen at Pitti Uomo 89.
To be totally honest, we don’t see shoe companies making so clear seasonal collections as such. So it’s more about the models and leathers that resellers pick out for production. However, as one trend we might see next winter resellers emphasizing simple balmoral boot models with rich deep colours.
Check out what tailors from Sauma were up to:
Carmina
Spanish shoe making does not have reputation that of English or Italian. However, we live in an age where country of origin hardly matters. Carmina is not only the best shoe maker in Spain but could very well be described being one of the best in the world - just neck and neck with the most reputable English makers.
I personally find Carmina lasts a bit more refined that traditional English lasts. They have that lighter Mediterranean flair in them which is particularly nice for suede shoes.
As the price point is only around 350-400€ per pair, I would say they have one of the best price-quality ratios on the market.
